OUR FOUNDER
WILLIE “COOLIE” MYRICK
Born and raised on Pitt Street in Thomson, Georgia, Coolie learned early what it meant to serve others. The eldest of eleven children, he grew up surrounded by faith, family, and the firm belief that humble beginnings build strong foundations. Guided by his favorite saying — “If you ain’t giving, you ain’t living” — he’s made it his life’s mission to bless others just as he’s been blessed.
A proud father of two daughters and a devoted Bulldogs fan (both Thomson High and UGA), Coolie brings that same team spirit into everything he does. As a member and ambassador of the Thomson Chamber of Commerce, he’s committed to uplifting his community through service, opportunity, and connection.
From discovering his gift to serve at a young age, to becoming an author and nonprofit founder, he believes wholeheartedly that a person’s gifts truly “make room” when used to help others. Whether he’s cheering at a football game, traveling with family, working out, or penning his next book, his faith remains the guiding force behind it all — keeping him grounded, grateful, and ready to give back wherever he’s called.
“If you ain’t giving, you ain’t living.”

THE HEART BEHIND
THE FOUNDATION
Though Coolie didn’t always have everything he wanted or needed, he was never short on love. That foundation of care and compassion shaped his heart early, inspiring a lifelong desire to give back. If he ever had a dollar more than he needed, he gave it away—believing that true wealth isn’t measured by what you keep, but by what you share.
For over 20 years, his small acts of kindness grew into something greater. His vision was to help children like the one he once was—kids with big hearts and bright potential who needed someone to believe in them. In 2018, that lifelong commitment became official with the establishment of The Coolie Myrick Foundation as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, allowing him to expand his reach and bless individuals, families, and entire communities on a larger scale.
Guided by his “boots on the ground” approach—showing up, getting involved, and being present—Coolie sets the tone for everything the foundation stands for. Grounded in faith and driven by service, the foundation exists to create opportunities, uplift communities, and transform lives through generosity and support.
